Mom’s caption for this photo: “I made her”
Hi friends! So I’m coming at you with a new series – Friday Favorites! It’s just what it sounds like – a list of favorite things, published on a Friday, only there’s an extra twist. Instead of posting my own favorites (which you get a pretty good dose of if you subscribe to my newsletter), these favorites will be written by some of my very favorite people! The idea is that this is what they’d share with me if we grabbed coffee every week. Their favorite products, books, recipes, or what’s hanging in their closet.
I wanted to kick off the series with a post from my mom, Dana, who tops the list of my favorite human beings. She’s fun and funny and we’re way too much alike. She gives good advice, makes the perfect m&m cookies, and hugs everyone she meets. She taught me what it means to be kind and strong. She’s a nurse practitioner, an expert shopper, a wife, a mom, and a way-too-excited puppy mom. My heart actually aches from the fact that we don’t live closer, but for now, I’ll settle for phone calls and mother-daughter weekends when we can.
Take it away, Momma bear!
Hi there! A few favorite things…
Lodge Cast Iron Skillet – I’m a late convert to cast iron cooking but now I’m hooked. Properly seasoned, you can make ANYTHING in it – on the stovetop or in the oven. From frittatas to grilled sandwiches to riced cauliflower to my fail-safe cornbread recipe.
Butter Chardonnay – Any of you who have met me know that I adore chardonnay. This is a relatively inexpensive and completely yummy option. I occasionally find it at Sam’s Club – woohoo!
Beautifeel Shoes – These are the comfiest and best-looking shoe I have EVER owned! Kait took me to Matava Shoes during one of my trips to Baltimore and I have dropped some money in there. Worth every penny.
Chico’s Juliet Ankle Pants – In all the colors.
She Reads Truth iPhone App – I am currently going through the Bible in a year. the way they pair the readings from the old and new testaments complement each other so well. The online community is very uplifting as well.
Morrison Smith Jewelers in Charlotte, NC – They are in the midst of resetting my mother’s diamond for me. I adore Samantha and the entire crew. They do the work on site and I can’t wait to see the finished result!
Before We Were Yours – I’m currently listening to this book and love it! I’m all about audiobooks, as my daily commute can be rather long and unpleasant. Listening to a good book takes some of the sting out of sitting in traffic!
And last but not least, if I could only take one beauty product with me to a desert island – Rodan and Fields Redefine Multi-Function Eye Cream… tada!
