If there’s one thing I’m certain of, it’s my ability to celebrate. It’s one of the reasons I’m so drawn to photography (celebrating all of those joyous moments makes me deliriously happy), and it’s definitely the reason I get so behind decorating for Christmas. The season of hope and joy and all things sparkly and festive – sign me up! This year, the icing on the cake was finding the perfect Christmas tree. She’s evenly proportioned and wonderfully dense, with her silvery needles and amazing smell. This will now be the tree we measure all others against.
And so, because this season makes me want to bake all the cookies and decorate every single surface, a little Christmas house tour! I’ve only got a couple more days to enjoy this, so you better believe I’m soaking up every last minute of the twinkly lights. While I’d love nothing more than to leave it all up until February, I’ve also got an itch to paint every room, so it’ll be coming down sooner rather than later. Wish me luck in choosing the perfect gray!
As a bonus, because of my cookie penchant mentioned above, links to my favorite Christmas cookie recipes. These have been tried and tested and are wholeheartedly approved for meeting your cookie needs. Chocolate Chip Peanut Butter Cookies. Chocolate Chip Shortbread Snowballs. Chocolate Candy Cane Cookies. Cut-Out Sugar Cookies with Icing. Soft Batch Apple Cider Gingersnaps.
Double bonus holiday decorating rule: If it’s not homemade, it’s from Target. Amen.
